As Myanmar’s economy improves and its industry develops rapidly, the country’s regional governments have also doubled their efforts to transform major population centres into smart cities. Leading the charge is Yangon, which has introduced 41 development projects under its Yangon Development Master Plan, worth some $2.2 billion in total.
One of their projects is the Yuzana Project, part of a larger plan to develop the Dagon Seikkan Township into a 100-acre smart district by providing affordable housing. In line with developing a smart city, advanced construction methods have also been considered and tested. A good example of this approach, as reported by Myanmar Times on 5 April, was that local real estate developer Shwe Taung Group, in partnership with Singapore-listed construction firm Tiong Seng Holdings, announced the completion of seven five-storey apartment blocks in the prior week.

Shwe Taung’s CEO U Aung Zaw Naing said the company is also interested in taking on new infrastructure projects at Dagon Seikkan. About the matter he said, “We are looking to work with the housing board and Ministry of Construction to improve the infrastructure of Dagon Seikkan, not just building new apartments, and transform the district into a smart city.”

With the slew of projects in the pipeline for Yangon and other regions, there is sure to be a great need for electrical power generation and engineering companies to help develop Myanmar’s expanding infrastructure. This opens up plenty of great business opportunities, and MYANENERGY – Myanmar’s No.1 International Electrical Power Generation, Transmission, Distribution & Engineering Exhibition & Conference intends to provide the perfect platform for realising those opportunities.

Organised by AMB Tarsus Events Group, one of the leading trade show organisers in Asia, MYANENERGY 2018 will enable you to capitalise on the business opportunities in Myanmar’s upstream construction sector, which looks set to become a major growth driver of Myanmar’s economy. The expo will be held at the MEP Mindama in Yangon from 29 November to 1 December 2018 and aims to provide an arena for showcasing the latest solutions, equipment and technology for the electric power industry.  With hundreds of international brands from over a dozen countries expected to participate, and several thousand visitors expected in attendance, MYANENERGY 2018 is shaping up to be the biggest electrical power generation & engineering industry expo in Myanmar.
