    FOUR MAJOR UPCOMING INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS IN MYANMAR SET TO DRIVE GROWTH IN ELECTRICAL TRANSMISSION AND SUPPLY BUSINESS  
     
  Major growth in the power transmission and supply industry is set to take place as the Ministry of Construction has announced their commitment to implement four mega infrastructure projects in 2018. Three of the projects are located on the outskirts of Yangon – the Korea Myanmar Industrial Complex, Eco Green City in Hlegu Township and the Smart District Project in Dagon Seikkan.

The fourth and largest project, the New Mandalar Resort in the Mandalay region will be developed in three phases, with facilities ranging from information technology related manufacturing to agricultural and logistical industrial zones, as well as residential and mix-used development zones. The Korea Myanmar Industrial Complex is a joint venture between the Korea Land and Housing Cooperation and Myanmar’s Department of Urban and Housing Development (DUHD). The US$110 million project includes small and medium enterprises, heavy industry and a vocational school, slated to finish in 2023.
 
     
   
     
  The Eco Green City, a 10-year project with an investment of nearly US$2 billion will cover 1,453 acres of land. Its design includes housing and a logistics hub and about 200 acres will be utilized for the government’s low cost and affordable housing schemes. The third largest project, the US$185 million Smart District Project will comprise of commercial developments as well as a slew of housing options, schools, parks and even sport facilities.

MYANENERGY 2018, held at the MEP Mindama, Yangon will present a platform to make the most of the above developments and more. Held over the course of three days, the Expo will gather over 250 local and internationally renowned brands under one roof, for key decision makers of the power and electrical engineering industry to meet, network and form promising business relationships.

Expecting to attract an attendance of more than 10,000 trade visitors, the business-to-business tradeshow will also bring industry professionals up to date on the latest trends and developments at the MYANENERGY 2018 Seminar and Technology Symposium. The Seminar is themed “Harnessing Myanmar’s Energy Potential For A Sustainable Future”.
